Add Text to Certificates

How do I add text to these pdf certificates? This way you can type the student’s name and date. This is not layed out in the same way on my new computer compared to my old one. Where is the “Tools” option to add a text box? Help!
I’m going to print myself and send standard mail. My old computer had Adobe Reader which allowed me to add text boxes directly to the pdf’s. I guess my new one doesn’t have that.

I import them into Word and then place text boxes over the certificate image in the places I want.
If you are printing, you can choose whether to sign manually or add a graphic/image of your signature before you print if for whatever reason you prefer that.
Note also: when I started doing this in Word, I not only added a text box to put the students’ names in fancy font, I also added my own studio logo next to the SM logo, sized to match. Looks cool.

How do I import into Word?

Same way as bringing any images into Word. Specifics may depend on what version of Word, what OS. In my version it’s Insert menu, then Picture.

Says, I can’t insert pdf’s, so I have to change the format I guess.
Of course, I could always just download Adobe Reader and it would function the same way as my old computer…

Weird. I’m able to do it as a Picture. Hopefully easy enough to export the certificate PDF to JPG or GIF format and then into Word. On Mac, the built-in Preview PDF viewer will export PDFs to other image formats. Of course, on my Word for Mac, I can insert a PDF directly into Word. Alas!
There are free online converters to convert PDF to one of those formats.
