Calling Back ‘No-Shows’ from Introductory Sessions

If people who said they would come to an FIS don’t show, do you wait for them to call or do you get back with them to tell them of next FIS? If you call them, do you leave a message on the answering machine, or do you call back again until you get to speak directly to a ‘real’ person? I don’t want to seem desperate or nag people, but would it be weird to call more than once if I didn’t get a response, or should I just leave it at one call?

I always do a follow up call to see what happened if I get no shows. I either invite them to attend my next FIS if I have one scheduled, or have them show up to the group that I started from the FIS. I let them know they can sit in on the first lesson of the group, and if they like it they can have the opportunity to enroll at the end of the lesson. Or I might try and schedule a private FIS if they can’t make the other times.
I always leave a message if I don’t get a live person, just because with my schedule I don’t have time for lots of call backs. Also people have caller ID’s now days and I don’t want to seem like a psycho by calling and hanging up until I get someone live. I always call twice just in case, I have never had anyone get upset at me for calling twice, and a lot of times something happened where they forgot about the first call and were happy to hear from me.
