Free Introductory Session- Handouts

Here’s a question for those of you who have been running Free Introductory Sessions for a while: has anyone found that it’s beneficial to hand out some type of token to attendees? I wondered whether something like a fridge magnet, for example, would show my appreciation as well as give people a tangible reminder/something to pass along to friends who may be interested.
Any other advice on FIS’s would be appreciated. I’m running them during the month of August in preparation for my official launch in September.

When I ordered my first business cards, Vistaprint was running a special with magnetized versions so I ordered some. While they are a bit pricier normally than I care to spend, it is noteworthy to mention that a couple of them on student’s fridges are responsible for at least one student referral and lots of conversations with visitors apparently. On the other hand, an info sheet with a business card attached (and maybe a couple of handouts) is more inexpensive, more info loaded and pretty professional looking. You can even hand out more than one business card with the encouragement to pass them along. There are a lot of low-cost marketing ideas out there.
