Is there a simple way to learn key signatures?

Time for Music and Accompaniment Level 2 detail our approach to addressing a playing-based relationship to scale, scale formula, key signature, scale-tone chords and their scale-based transposition. Naturally you need to have done the Reading Program before being able to access Time For Music, and you also need to have done both of these as well as Jazz Level 1 in order to access Accompaniment Level 2.
I don’t see a compelling reason for introducing scale sooner than Time For Music. Whilst the learning of scale could be argued as being a worthwhile thing to immediately learn about in its own right, because it doesn’t have significant, direct and practical application to the playing base (and teaching it would be at the expense of Foundation and Supplemental Program content), it just doesn’t meet the criteria necessary for earlier inclusion.
It’s critical to remember that just because something CAN be taught, it does not mean that it SHOULD be taught.
