Chester Chills Out variation

My 8-year-old came up with a cute but lovely variation of Chester Chills Out: LH the same but play RH “backwards” (top to bottom to top, then bottom-top for tailpiece). It makes excellent harmony. A few of my students caught on really well and love it. But a couple of my other students found it hard (not ready for it) so I am careful not to introduce it too early. Or first have a student get used to RH playing the normal 5SS (all on white notes) backward while LH plays it forward before doing that with Chester.

Try playing Chester’s Samba contra movement (hands going in opposite directions to each other)! It’s a real workout!
