Advertising- Shared Lessons

Cheryl G.For the teachers who do mostly shared lessons, is this mentioned in your advertising or not? How do you handle objections from parents who only want private lessons? Do you take these students or not?Sheri R. CaliforniaI do mostly shared lessons and I don’t mention it in my advertising. I bring it up when I talk about fees at the end of an FIS and I expound enthusiastically on the benefits of Shared versus Private. If someone says they want Private (an adult recently did because he felt shy and he ended up not taking), I tell them the price (which is twice as much as the Shared), and also say I don’t always have time slots available for that. It is rare that someone has decided not to take because of this and it seems everyone really enjoys being part of the group once they start. (It’s hard to believe I have three private students now who pay me (not a well-trained player at all) $50 for a 25 minute lesson. Also a family that drives an hour each way. That kind of stuff speaks loads for this wonderful method! |
