Is there a suggested teaching order that is published anywhere for when to present the arrangements and variations within the Level 2 Foundation Songs?
Kylie S.
Hi Kristi
No I don’t believe it is. At this stage, it has been left up to our judgment. I agree, as a new teacher in particular, it would be a nice addition.

There are two Teacher Workshops available for purchase from Simply Music — Arrangements 1 and Arrangements 2. The workshops include a suggested Foundation Level in which to teach each arrangement. I’m also a new teacher and now that I have students in Level 2 I have found the Workshops to be invaluable!

Hi Kristi,
I recorded a Teacher Workshop Series title on the Level 2 Arrangements. It includes written notes which list the approximate times I like to present each piece, based on the student’s progress through the Foundation program. For example, I recommend presenting I’ll be There 1&2 during Foundation 2, and I’ll be There 3 during Foundation 3. This isn’t exactly a sequence, because as Kylie says, it’s up to the individual Teacher. Being flexible with Arrangements allows you to accommodate different students’ needs in a way that isn’t possible with the Foundation program.
The workshop doesn’t go into Variations, but the general rule would be that you do all Variations of a piece before going on to Arrangements. Note also that you can present certain L2 Arrangements before certain L1 Arrangements. For example, I usually teach Fur Elise 1 from Arrangements 1 later than I’ll be There 1 from Arrangements 2.
The Teacher Workshop Series is available in the Store on the teacher intranet in the Supplemental Programs section. All of the Teacher Workshop Series titles begin with ‘TWS’.
