Completing songs in workshop

I’ve started my workshops and it is clear, particularly with the younger group, that getting through the four songs will be a challenge (or impossible). Is it better to just get a taste of all the songs or to actually complete some? I see advantages to both, but lean towards completing a song. It would be more encouraging to be able to play entire songs than just pieces of them, in my opinion. Thoughts?

I would complete one first. I think they need a sense of completion. It can be a little more challenging in the workshop environment – you don’t yet have the practice commitment since it is a defined-length class. If some are ready to move forward, though, I would definitely do so with those students. The others may be inspired.
