Workshops
Marketing Online
Just want to share some things I’ve learned the past few months that I hope may help you in your journey with growing your student base. I am a newer teacher and just started really pursuing the possibility of doing this full time. Here are…

Question about Workshops
I would love to grow my studio from the plateau of about 20 students to more like 50. One thing I want to do is add Workshops. I see a 6-minute training on Workshops in Business Support. Where else would you suggest I look? Also,…

Organizing workshops
I have five kids signed up to do my summer workshop: three 8-year-olds, a 6-year-old, and a 5-year-old. I know the 5-year-old is very active and has a short attention span even for her age. Should I do two small groups or all in one?…

Completing songs in workshop
I’ve started my workshops and it is clear, particularly with the younger group, that getting through the four songs will be a challenge (or impossible). Is it better to just get a taste of all the songs or to actually complete some? I see advantages…

Otherwise we invite the questions – why require parent attendance for ongoing lessons when it wasn’t required for workshops? And ultimately it’s the parent deciding whether to continue lessons…

Number of students in workshop
For workshops, is there a recommended limit to how many students per piano, compared with how many you can have in a typical (non workshop) shared lesson? Somewhere I heard a suggestion of only 2 people per piano in a workshop, but for shared lessons…

Accompaniment workshops
I am wondering if any of you have thought about doing an Accompaniment Workshop for current or potential students as a 4 – 6 week affair like we do ‘ordinary’ Workshops? I love Accompaniment, have done lots of it and would love to perhaps do…

SHMs for workshops
I have heard several teachers talk about doing 4-6 week workshops (or whatever time frame fits). I would love to do something like that for folks in my church. A small workshop is not too much to commit to, yet they can gain so much…

Workshop Questions
I have two five year old special needs boys. One, C ,was exposed to drugs in Utero and probably has developmental issues but has not been diagnosed yet. J, the other boy has Williams Syndrome. They are very different from one another. C is very…
