Continuing Reading Rhythm projects

I have just finished Reading Rhythm. It felt to me like it wasn’t quite finished and I have a couple of questions:
1. The read, transcribe, and play exercises that we introduce during ties, should this be an ongoing thing even after they have finished RR?
2. I have started trying to transcribe ties from MOR tracks and it’s hard! I am listening to the track, writing down what I hear, then going back to add ties to make up the cycle of 4. Am I missing something or am I trying to introduce this way too early?
I have read the Reading Rhythm posts in Simpedia and am aware that there are plans to create a RR2. Also, I have purchased Read & Play Rhythm, but haven’t done the exercises yet.

I have never heard of plans for a RR2 specifically, but there are plans for a general Reading 2 program in the future. To answer your specific questions:
1. I do continue writing and transcribing after completion of RR to keep those skills sharp.
2. Transcribing ties is challenging for most. With your students, try starting with a basic rhythm to transcribe (no ties). Then using the same rhythm, voice it with a tie added and have them just add the tie to their transcribed rhythm. If you do a few like that first, it can help them transcribe ties without the extra step.
I am waiting for my Read n Play Volume 1 edits to be branded and completed. That will include exercises just like this, with audio files provided to transcribe from. I think it will be really helpful!
