I’m sure many teachers take checks and/or use PayPal. I used SQUARE for a while with my iPhone but then when I came across DWOLLA I changed it all. Here’s why…

We ALL work hard. Time is money. And now with DWOLLA, there is no longer “the check’s in the mail” or “I can’t pay you this week because we are sick…can you please wait until next week, or I can pop it in the mail.” This then means YOU have to wait and/or make extra trips to the bank and then log payments and take time to make the deposits! Who wants that?

So, after searching and searching, I chose DWOLLA. They have a catchy tune (ya, that got me ha ha ha) AND there are two main things that sold me (well several).

1. FIXED cost (unlike PayPal) so you can budget and forecast and it’s JUST 25 cents per transaction.
2. FREE for your students – plus once enrolled they can pay you from anywhere online, including through their smart phone!

Plus, the DWOLLA website is EASY (even I can do it) and you can upload your logo, add comments to when you are requesting payment for that special personal touch. You can designate two bank accounts to where to send your monies. Plus, DWOLLA takes care of statements for YOU. Hey, I’m in!

Anyway, I also took a look at Zash Pay and the student pays a $.75 fee per transaction…I don’t know how happy they would be to have to pay any fees, especially if we are the ones advocating a new payment method.

As an incentive, I gave all of my families this last month a nice new binder to hold all their SM materials in an organized manner at home and they were all thrilled! Nice way to keep reinforcing the personal touch and LTR plus, the less likely they will want to leave your studio once aligned with you! I am really happy so far with this payment method.
