Getting My Groups Started

Well, I went and did it! I started two groups two weeks ago! and it’s just as Neil said: Energizing.
Here’s how I did it:
There is a local private school in my area. I asked if I could send out 800 flyers to their students, and they allowed me to do this. I spent a total of $42.00 for the flyers. They also allowed me to attend an open house for their daycare summer program at which parents would be able to sign up their kids.
I had the SM Introductory Session video going and my materials laid out nicely. Over thirty parents came up to me and asked about the program. Of those thirty, I picked up 17 students. I put many of them into groups, one with 8 students (ages 7-8), another with 4 students (ages 9-11). I also put 5 into private lessons (under the age of 7 and a special circumstance student).
Hardly any of the students came from the 800 flyers that I sent out! I guess it takes all kinds of marketing:). One of the leaders at the daycare program was not surprised at the interest for lessons. They had recently taken a survey from their parents and the number one interest for their kids was piano and violin!
It was my goal to teach a group this summer and it definitely is different from private lessons. It took a lot of courage for me to pursue this goal but I am so thankful to have done it. I see the value and time efficiency in doing groups. It was much easier and more fun than I thought it would be. My studio is now overflowing and my only choice is to pursue groups. Hope many of you have that problem too!
That’s my story for today!
Blessings,
