A mom asked me how to start her 20-month-old on the path to learning music. Do you have any suggestions for this mom? I can think of some obvious things at the keyboard, with rhythms, listening to music, and children’s videos. Thank you for any other ideas you can offer.

Without a doubt, have the mom look into Lynn Kleiner’s remarkable program, Music Rhapsody. Lynn is a world leader in early childhood music and movement programs, and Music Rhapsody was created as a powerful opportunity for a child to be immersed in their innate musicianship. What’s wonderfully unique about this program is that it was also developed as a perfect and direct transitional program into Simply Music Piano, and many of the activities and experiences in the program are built around the songs from the Simply Music Piano curriculum. https://musicrhapsody.com/music-rhapsody/
You can call Music Rhapsody directly to see if there’s a teacher in the mom’s area: 310-376-8646. Alternatively, you might like to do the training yourself!

It’s the best! I have been teaching it since 2012 and it is wonderful! It’s very rewarding to teach too!
