Order of teaching Fur Elise sections

Any reason why the C section of Fur Elise is learned before the B section? Is the B section really more difficult?
Cate R., Australia
The third part (Level 7) is more pattern-based. The fourth (Level 9), which is technically the third, is a little more complicated. The fourth gives you an ending like we do with Ode to Joy.

I wouldn’t say it’s more difficult from a technical perspective, and it’s certainly shorter, but the B section is considerably more difficult to process as a playing-based project. While there are patterns in both LH & RH, the phrasing doesn’t line up. So a pattern in the LH might overlap two RH sections. It takes some careful processing.

Yes. More difficult to play, to learn, and to teach.

9.3.1 (both the teacher training and student videos). Reasons: more complex in its components. And lots of details in bringing both hands together.
