Three Leg Pizza Stool

Somewhere in the training or archives, someone mentioned using the analogy of a three legged stool to illustrate the roles we each have (teacher, parent and student) and the importance of each one doing their part. I find this to be very helpful and use it whenever I need to address this issue with a class. I’ve had my eye out for a three legged stool to buy and have on hand as a visual aid when having this discussion, but have never found one…. until now!!
Our family had pizza the other night and right in the middle, to keep the box from sagging onto our pizza was a cute little white three legged stool! I quickly rescued it from the garbage bin and it now sits on the piano ready for the next time I address the topic. Next pizza, I plan to save another one, snap one leg off and use it as an illustration of what happens if one person isn’t doing their part.
This suits me much better than a real stool (uses almost no space!) so I thought I’d pass the idea along. I hope it’s useful to someone!

That is a great idea, to break a leg off and show what happens! What a fantastic visual aid. I am going out and ordering a pizza tonight.
I have a 3-legged antique piano stool with a swivel top. We refer to it almost every week for review, especially now that it is the first of the year!
