Accompaniment 1 Project 9

In Accompaniment 1 training video “Processing I, IV, V”, Neil refers to “Project 9” (as in “so Project 9 is to process I, IV, V at a practical level…”). I’ve gone through my notes, am rewatching videos, checked forums including Simpedia, checked the student materials, and can’t find a list. Is there an Accompaniment project list somewhere?

I process I, IV, V by playing the prior songs (Amazing Grace, Auld Lang Syne, and Danny Boy) in different keys that suit my range. I like Db, Eb, D, and B. B is an “unusual” key for students to process, but I like them getting used to that.
I have also had students take songs with lots of chords and transpose them using the process. I might have to address ii, iii, vi, or vii but if they’re ready it’s definitely possible.

I don’t know of a “project list” per se; however, similar to what Stephen mentions – my understanding of page 16 in Accompaniment 1 (I, IV, V) is that the projects for that one page include transposing all three songs in all 12 keys. I have my students process this concept with the expectation that they will play Amazing Grace, Auld Lang Syne, and Danny Boy in all 12 keys so they have clear understanding of I, IV, V , and how to apply it to all three songs.
It is an amazing skill for them to acquire so early in their piano journey, to be able to transpose in this simple way. I call it the “cookie challenge” (they get Oreo cookies at the end of it) and once they have had time to prepare over weeks to months (varies with each student), I randomly choose 4-5 keys for them to play each of the three songs in so that we cover all 12 keys. It quickly becomes clear whether they have mastered the concept or not.
