Emergency Information

Teachers, do you have a system for emergencies? For example, I was thinking of having an “emergency card” in my studio with contact info for a trusted neighbor and my husband in case something happens to me during a lesson. Then I wondered if I should have emergency contact info for my students’ parents?

I have a contact sheet printed at home and in studio to direct a family member to in the event I need someone’s help contacting students. I thought of this when one of my children needed emergency surgery years ago. It’s nice to have help in a time like that to cancel a lesson or for inclement weather if you get stuck somewhere. Never needed it though. More importantly I have all my studio families in my phone as well.

Thank you for this. I have not thought of what I would do in an emergency. I do have a scheduling service (third party) that I can go in and cancel lessons. It has an option for contacting the student when I cancel. Not sure anyone else has access in case I were incapacitated.
