Summer Lessons

I’m working on summer plans and imagine that many of you are also. I hate for us all to spend time inventing similar stuff. Has anyone developed a letter you might send to your students emphasizing the importance of continuing lessons over the summer? OF course a conversation face to face is also planned, but a letter would help the spouses that are not present understand the issues. If you have such a letter, would you be willing to share?
Additionally, I’m polling my students to see if there is interest in a summer camp (1 hour a week for 5 days ). If so, I’ll be developing a summer camp curriculum. I’m happy to share ideas with others.

I used to give my students an incentive. If they take 4-6 summer lessons (I teach through June, but want July/August to be lighter), then they get first chance of fall times.
You could also say if they take summer lessons then they can keep their fall time that they have now, otherwise they’ll go into the mix with new students.
I would be interested in hearing your summer camp outline. I’ve created one as well…

This will be my first summer. With my students, no mention of summer break, with the exception of my vacation, is mentioned so I expect them to continue through the summer. But I’m planning on offering the workshops as an inroad during the summer. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have many teenagers, as well as school employees, who have expressed interest, but are busy — if nothing else, I’ll get some interest during the summer. Most may end it at that, but would be exposed to it, but some may continue on in the fall.
