Using both TTMs and SHMs

I’m starting to get into Level 7 and noticed there’s some good “golden nuggets” regarding the length of pieces (I was wondering about that) and also technique and fingering. Glad these were addressed!
I am now learning all Foundation pieces from the TTM and also the SHMs. I was not doing that initially and it’s important to know how students are learning. Sometimes it’s presented somewhat differently and/or Neil mentions different things in the student versions. It also gives teachers a chance to re-review the TTM in a more abbreviated format. I know the digital trainings in SMD lay it out in this fashion.

You will continue to discover ‘golden nuggets’! And you never know when they’re coming…

I always treated myself as a teacher AND a student from the beginning. Yes, it’s really important to understand everything from the student’s perspective.

Quite simply, it is incredibly important to review both the TTMs and the SHMs for every piece. The subtle differences and additions between the two are mostly deliberate and co-supportive.
