I’m starting a small 5/6 yr old group. I’m thinking of having it be 20 min instead of my normal 25-30. Any thoughts?

I would have it be the regular time but tell the parents there may be some weeks that will be done early and it might only be 20 minutes. You might find yourself actually using the whole time especially as the weeks progress. And in the beginning when there are a lot of things to say, LOL.

Between the talks that occupy time in the first several lessons, the going more slowly to move through steps of projects, and the opportunity to hear all students play everything rather than not, you may find that there is benefit to keeping to your regular lesson duration from the start.

I would recommend the normal amount of time. I have a few 5-6 year old groups and because they tend to go slower I definitely use up the full 30 mins with something that might take the average group 10 minutes. I find for the most part you can keep their attention just fine. Stickers as a reward works wonders too
