Making Online Lessons Simple

I promised I’d send online ideas that make it SIMPLE for beginning onliners. I’ve been doing this for a while now. It is particularly helpful I find for kids in groups online. It helps the lesson get off to a flying start at that typically clunky online beginning of lesson with lining the technology up. It covers the super important LTR, PL and checking NOTES from previous week without saying a word. What I have in place is the home coach sends a pic of each kids LTR (thumbs)PL and the NOTES HOT report a good 8 hours ahead of the lesson. I find I am in their world immediately without tedious conversational dialoging at the outset. I find words have to be pithy online.More than normal. Both ways. What is the H. O. T. report? Thank you to the teacher from whom I borrowed and extended this idea. H means Help, O means OK and T means more time.

thanks so much! Just to clarify – each student completes a HOT report every week and categorizes each of their projects from last week into either H, O or T? Also what are the highlighted colors on the playlist? Do they mean something?

Yes the HOT report is a photo of notes from last week with the H. O. T. designation against it. I like it in RED but I love how George has been creative with the lettering. Any expression of individuality is great isn’t it.
…but I do insist that the ARR are a separate colour than the FDN (cos ARR can slip into the cracks playlistwise) and the lesson day is highlighted.
