Here’s a project I’ve done which incorporates different strategies and programs, step by step (one of my favorite things to do):

1. Preparatory Learning: Teach the 4 LH positions of Greensleeves (before we get to Greensleeves). That’s the whole assignment.
2. Comp & Improv: Once that is learned, add RH improv 5/5 D on bottom. Try different surrounding notes if desired.
3. Foundation: Teach Greensleeves – LH is already learned.
4. Comp & Improv/Arrangement: Once Greensleeves is solid, add an improv section at the end. Finish by playing through all of Greensleeves again, or just the second half.
5. Comp & Improv/Arrangement – a bit more challenging: After the improv section, play through all of Greensleeves again but with LH in broken chords (B-M-T).
