Faster Student in Shared Lesson

Sometimes in a shared lesson, one student is ready to move on from a project before others are quite ready.
Let’s share some ideas for an extra “filler” project for that student.
I’ll start: Utilize one of the Supplemental Programs – assign one project from it. Several have student videos, so you wouldn’t have to take much time in class:
* Tune Toolkit
* Any of Elizabeth Gaikwad’s programs (Songs for… series, Foundation Duets, Chord Drill)
* Blues Infusion
* Teacher Collection (for those past the reading program)

And also, how to implement that filler project for that one student in a group lesson when others are working on their music?

Mike M. It’s ok to take a few minutes for any necessary explanation for that student. It can be motivating for the others. I’m thinking more of projects that you aren’t teaching in full during the lesson but can be done with minimal instruction.
Other ideas:
* Create your own arrangement of (whatever song)
* Create an improvisation project that you can teach the other students to implement
* Choose one foundation song and see how many different styles you can create with that song; it’s ok to add to the song or change it

Have an iPad with Notion on it so the student can experiment with notating a composition.

It’s a very reasonable app for notating comps. I really like it. My students have it too (some)
